Award of Various Prizes for Research Paper Presentation
In order to encourage and inspire the young and budding research workers, the Society holds, during its Annual Conferences, a Special Session of Paper Presentation Competition for the Award of various Prizes to be awarded to the best research papers presented. This Special Session is held as a part of the Academic Programme with no other parallel session.

The Award of one V. M. Shah Prize

This prize is awrded to the best research paper presented in any of the following three research areas:
Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Fourier Analysis, Harmonic Analysis, Approximation Theory and related areas.

Three / Four judges are appointed by the Council for the “Paper Presentation Competition” for deciding the award of various Prizes. The V. M. Shah prize also carries a cash award of Rs.1000/- along with a Certificate.

Like the Six IMS Prizes, for the award of this prize also the FOLLOWING CONDITIONS APPLY:

1. The candidate must be a member of the Society for being eligible for the award of this Prize.

2. The upper age limit of a candidate for this prize for a particular year is 40 years as on December 31 of that year.

3. (a) The paper to be presented for the competition has to be under single authorship .

(b) Independent work at the post-doctoral level is preferred.

(c) The work must have been carried out in India .

(d) Stress will be on both, quality of research as well as performance during the presentation .

Note : One who is already awarded a prize in a certain area in the past is not expected to participate in the competition for the prize in the same area .

• All the Heads of the Departments / Institutions and the Research Supervisors are requested to encourage their research workers for participation in this competition.

The Proceedure to participate :

Authors intending to present a paper for the award of any of the above eight prizes must

1. send TWO copies of full paper along with the abstract in triplicate (not exceeding 250 words) to

so as to reach there not later than 31st October of that year.

2. indicate the name of the prize as also the Area and the group in which the paper is intended to be presented at the top of each copy of the paper and the abstract.

3. append to the complete paper a copy of the biodata/c.v. including full name, address, research experience, list of publications, along with the date of birth ( duly supported by the attested copy of the High School Leaving Certificate).
